About Angie
There are times in all of our lives when we are deeply and lastingly impressed by something that happens in a moment of time. A fight between parents. Some piece of wisdom written on an advertising billboard. Something said by a minister during a sermon that strikes you squarely between the heart and soul. My confession: At age five, my favorite TV program was Kung Fu starring David Carradine featuring two influential role models that changed my life — a student and a master of life.
That was big stuff for a five year old, but in years to come the significance of those archetypes somehow grew sharper and sharper, and became a gauge I was aware of as I matured and encountered the world. Born in New York, I’ve now spent more than half my life living and working overseas, traveling to 50 countries and speaking three languages.
As I moved up through positions in marketing, sales, and corporate management in companies such as Price Waterhouse, British Airways, and Johnson & Johnson in New York, Rome, London, Athens, Istanbul, and Tel Aviv, I paid increasing heed to questions that surfaced every day: Why did some people succeed and others just get by? Why were some pulsing with vitality and others barely breathing? Why did some people seem condemned to climbing ladders of expectation created by others, while some unique individuals seem blessed with the power and inner assurance to create their own and race past their peers?
As I began to dig and study those examples, it became clear that there
indeed was life changing wisdom out there, even a transformational science
that included universal rules, laws and practices that could be learned—and
taught.
I obeyed one of the precepts I discovered when I stepped off my own corporate ladder and resigned from my successful four year tenure at The Thomas Cook Group, then a premier financial services company. It surprised even me.
One of the things I’ve learned is that most of us are held in place by fears, invisible bonds. It’s not mandatory. I became a 3-star CMAS Israeli-trained dive master to overcome my terrifying fear of the deep. In my research I’d learned a foolproof methodology for dissolving fear and even more, cultivating cast-iron courage. Can you use it? It’s only one of the dozens of things I can teach you.
